Meiping is a category of Chinese pottery. Its shape is of a young female body, a small mouth, short narrow neck, plump bosom and concave belly. Meiping means: plum vase and traditionally branches of plum tree blossoms are hand painted, underglazed and fired in a Ru-style kiln as was done in the Song Dynasty (960 - 1279).
