It’s a really good JBL speaker. It’s rare to find something this good; it’s excellent for use around water. I just bought it a month ago for $250 in fred meyer plus tax.The JBL Charge 5 is the next generation of the JBL Charge 4. Its IP67 dust and water resistance rating protects the internal drivers; additionally, it grants you access to sound customization tools via the JBL Portable app. Unlike the Charge 4, you can pair it with other PartyBoost-compatible speakers to fill the entire room with sound. The JBL Charge 5 offers a decent listening experience for music. Thanks to its balanced mid-range, it reproduces vocals and lead instruments with clarity and detail. Consequently, it is suitable for listening to a wide variety of musical genres, and its graphic equalizer allows you to fine-tune the sound to your personal taste. However, as a compact speaker, it does not deliver particularly powerful, deep bass. Pros Fantastic battery life. Balanced mid-range. Cons Two units are required for stereo sound.
