TREK 520 frameset (frame+fork) w/parts, 21" (54cm), needs paint
Description
I'm selling a Trek 520 frameset (frame+fork) plus parts (see pics). This is a True Temper OX CroMoly steel frame and fork. The frame size is 21" (54cm), and that includes the 1" or so of the seat tube that extends past the top of the top tube. Based on the color and graphics, I think the year on this frame is around 2002 - 2004, can't really narrow it down to the exact year since the 520 model was basically identical in color for those years. The frame has cosmetic issues: as you can see in the pics it was given a really sloppy touch-up job at some point in its life. My recommendation would be to have it media-blasted down to bare metal and then have it repainted. Or not, if you're not too concerned with the appearance then you can just use it as the basis for an inexpensive touring bike project. The frameset comes with a threadless stem and a Cane Creek threadless headset installed (the headset needs to be serviced). It also comes with the original Shimano 105 crankset installed, plus a cartridge-style square taper bottom bracket (not sure if the bottom bracket is original or not, but it spins smoothly with no play so it's good to go). The chainrings are 52-42-30, the middle chainring is worn and should be replaced. The crank arms are 170mm. Build note: the rear dropouts on this model are 135mm. Note: if you need any parts in order to build up this frame, let me know because I have wheels and all the other parts you would need in order to turn this frame into a complete bicycle. I am including several pics of the frame in which I have tried to show the areas with the crappy touch-up paint. I bumped up the brightness in some of the pics in order to show the detail better. I'm selling the frameset plus parts as shown in the pics for $100 (firm, and cash only please). I'm not at all interested in any lower offers at this time, so please no haggling over the price. Please message me if you have any questions or if you would like to set up a time to meet up so you can check out the frame. Right now the frame is in my climate-controlled storage unit in inner SE Portland (near OMSI, see map for the exact location), so we would have to meet up there.
